Inka Tours is a Kigali-based tour operator built by people who grew up here, know every ranger station by name, and still get a lift in their chest every time a silverback appears through the ferns. We plan Rwanda trips the way we'd plan one for family: honestly, carefully, and with an eye for the moments that actually matter.

Inka Tours was founded in Kigali by a small group of guides and logistics planners who had spent years working for foreign-owned safari companies, booking Rwanda's parks, permits and lodges for other people's brands. We started Inka Tours because we felt the country deserved an operator that was actually from here: one that answered the phone in Kigali, not a call centre three time zones away.

"Inka" means cattle in Kinyarwanda and the cow is a traditional symbol of wealth, respect and hospitality in Rwandan culture, historically given as a gift between families to mark trust read more about the cow in Rwandan culture on https://www.inkatours.co.rw/blog/inka-cow-rwandan-culture.html . Every itinerary we build is, in a small way, an extension of that same gesture: we're inviting you into a country we love, and we want you to leave feeling like you understood it a little.
