Our client seeks a resourceful and results-driven Operations Lead to establish and grow its presence in Togo. As the Operations Lead, you will spearhead our client’s operations in Togo. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will build the business from the ground up, ensuring rapid growth, efficiency, and profitability. The ideal candidate will be a passionate entrepreneur with a deep understanding of the Togolese market, a proven track record of success in business development, and a strong ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Market Entry & Business Development:
Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify key opportunities and challenges.
Develop and execute a comprehensive go-to-market strategy, including product localization, pricing, and distribution channels.
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, banks, mobile money operators, and local businesses.
Identify and onboard strategic partnerships to accelerate market penetration.
Operations Management:
Oversee all aspects of daily operations, including customer acquisition, onboarding, support, and service delivery.
Ensure smooth and efficient operations of the payment platform, including fraud prevention and risk management.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
Team Building & Management:
Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing local team.
Foster a positive and results-oriented work environment.
Delegate effectively and empower team members to take ownership.
Financial Management:
Manage the country's budget and ensure profitability.
Develop and implement strategies to achieve break-even as quickly as possible with minimal resources.
Monitor and control costs while maximizing revenue growth.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry best practices.
Implement robust risk management procedures to mitigate potential risks.
Qualifications
Proven Experience:
Experience in business development, sales, or operations within the fintech/payments/financial services industry.
Demonstrated success in building and scaling businesses in the Togolese market
Experience in managing teams and leading high-performing organizations.
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Fluency in French and English, and preferably Ewe and other local languages.
